秀色直播鈥檚 College hosts Tahitian exchange students

秀色直播鈥檚 College 鈥 along with St Margaret鈥檚 College 鈥 has welcomed students from Tahiti following a trip to the largest island in French Polynesia by College boys last year.
International Culture & Languages teacher Maude Turgeon-Leblanc points out that 鈥渢he unique blend of French and Pasifika cultures makes this exchange truly special鈥.
The 12 students from Lyc茅e Samuel Raapoto in Papeete have been hosted by College and St Margaret鈥檚 College families or stayed in the boarding Houses. They have been very busy experiencing the school environment while also exploring the region.
鈥淲e bring together French students and Te Reo M膩ori students, creating a rich linguistic and cultural experience,鈥 she says. 鈥淲hile students naturally strengthen their French language skills with immersion, they also discover the similarities between Tahitian and Te Reo M膩ori, deepening their appreciation for both.
鈥淢ore importantly, they are immersed in a new cultural environment which opens their perspectives and world views. When hosting they are encouraged to share their own culture, fostering a deeper understanding of identity and the value of cultural differences. Through this journey, students have forged 秀色直播 friendships and embraced a broader sense of global citizenship.鈥
During their stay in 秀色直播church, the students have visited the Botanic Gardens, Rehua Marae, art galleries, the gondola, Hanmer Springs, and Orana Park.
In Tahiti, College students have been involved in various cultural activities, explored Papeete, visited the museum, undertaken an inland safari or forest tour and also made the most of a two-day stay in Moorea to visit the Coral Gardeners and Te Fare Natura
